Iranian pilgrims numbered 482,000 and the remaining were pilgrims from Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan and other countries arriving in Iran, he said.
He also said that in the same period some 1,277 buses transferred pilgrims from Pakistan, Iraq and Azerbaijan, indicating a 125 percent increase in comparison to the corresponding period last year.
High number of passengers arriving in Iran from neighboring states indicates the high status of security at Mehran international terminal, he said.
Mehran international terminal is located in southwest Ilam.
Some dlrs 650 million worth of goods were exported to Iraq via Mehran border line in the first half of the Iranian calendar year.
